Nestled in the green heart of Italy, Castel Sismano is more than just a castle; it’s a living piece of history. This ancient fortified village, or borgo, dates back to the 11th century and was once a defensive fortress for the nearby city of Todi. It has a rich and dramatic past, having been a part of various papal states and owned by powerful noble families over the centuries.

Today, this historical treasure is a beautifully restored residence and a working agricultural estate, known for its production of high-quality products. It was surreal to walk through a place that has stood for over a thousand years, now serving as a charming home. Visiting was the perfect way to begin our own story here in Umbria.

We can’t wait to discover more of the area and share our journey with you!
